Lights
Driving lights need to be checked on a regular basis as bulbs can blow at anytime even on cars that are less than 6 months old. Defect lighting is an MOT failure in most cases. It can also get you noticed by the authorities.
Not only do the lamps on a car let you see where you are going, they also communicate to other road uses what you are doing i.e. imagine braking really had in heavy fast moving traffic with both brake light bulbs blown; you would almost certainly have another driver in your boot. Or have your ever given another driver a stern look for not indicating? Well perhaps he did, you just couldn't see it because his light wasn't flashing.
