Servicing
The service intervals are specified by the vehicle manufacturer in a service schedule. Most modern vehicles have a service indicator (normally based on time & mileage) integrated into the dash display which tells the driver when the next service is due. In some cases i.e. Volkswagen / Audi, they give the driver an option to run what’s called a “Long Life Service” which means that the engine control unit calculates when best to bring the car in for service.
The primary reason for having a car serviced is to have its oil and oil filter changed. Often other parts can be scheduled into the service routine depending on manufacturer i.e. other engine filters (air, fuel), spark plugs & gearbox fluid etc. Each service is recorded in a service book which is rubber stamped by us upon completion. A complete service history adds to the resale value of a vehicle as well as maintaining a long engine life.
